  1. they don't hurt they hurt for bout an hour then they stop if you just eat one bowl of icecream!

  2. I assume you are getting the traditional braces, not the new invisible ones. There is some pain but it is minor. The main annoyance is the food that gets stuck in them and the occasional pinch against the cheek. A Waterpik does a great job of washing the food out. And remember no caramels for awhile.

  3. idk but from what I've heard they don't hurt when you are getting them on its just after they hurt a little. do you have sensitive teeth?

  4. They hurt for like a week when you first have them on after a few hours. Then, it doesn't hurt until the next visit, and it  gets less painful with each visit.

    Don't worry, you'll be OK :]

  5. it just depends on your pain tolerance..

but no matter what take a few ibuprofen before you go.

but for me it didnt hurt and the next day i was eating chicken nuggets.

    dont be scared.

i lost some spacers and  it was fine.

it just tasted gross after i left..so have some mints and stuff.

  6. its ok about swallowing a spacer they will out new ones in the day u go back take advil about1 hour before u go to the dentist i wont lie but yes they do hurt for about 2 days then its ok!!! but yea

  7. Well, I got mine on early Tuesday morning and it didn't hurt at all when i got them on and for most of the day it was fine. It was the next day that I really started to feel the braces. It's been about 2 and a half days and I can't say that it hurts to talk but my teeth are very sore so eating or closing my mouth in general hurts a lot.

It all depends on your tolerance for pain and the severity of your case though. I had 8 spacers that were very difficult for 2 dentists to put in so i expected a little more pain than the average person.

just remember to take advil, aleve, or some kind of pain killers at least an hour you get them on and a few hours after because even though it may not hurt than, it will feel odd later on. any discomfort won't be anything you can't handle, and in anywhere from 2-7 days, you'll hardly feel them anymore except when you get them tightened every 1-2 months. oh, and don't forget to bring chapstick and put it on before and after you get your braces. your moth will be wide open for at least and an hour and you don't want your lips to crack or get too chapped.

Just remember that its totally worth it because in a year or two you'll have the straight teeth and beautiful smile that you've always wanted.

  8. XD you swallowed one.... hahaha, i thought that was funny. :)

but anyway. yes, braces are SUPPOSED to hurt at first. :) but then everyone eventually gets used to them.
