  1. All dogs shed. But bichon frises don't shed as much.

  2. Very little -- It would be considered a non-shedding breed.

  3. My friend's bichon hardly shedded. :)

  4. YES

    all dogs shed

they need daily grooming to prevent matting as htey shed out their one layer and it easily mats into the outer layers

  5. Do they shed?  Very little.

    Are they hypoallergenic?  Absolutely not.

Are they easy to take care of because of not shedding much?  No, they need MORE grooming than a dog that sheds.

Because they shed so little, will that help keep my house clean?  No, because all dogs are dirty.  They track in mud (and sometimes much worse), they throw up/have accidents on the carpet, bed, pretty much anyplace you don't want them to do it.

Lots of people look for "non-shedding" dogs because they are wanting a low to no maintenance dog.  I hope that's not the case here, because there is no such thing.  If you're worried about allergies...all dogs have skin and saliva and pee, and those are the things a human is allergic to.

Bichons, from my experience, are very happy little dogs.  However, they can be willful and difficult to train.  If I were to help a friend obtain a Bichon, I would definitely recommend a rescued dog for anyone lacking in lots of time for training or lacking in the experience to do so.

  6. All dogs shed to some degree or another.  Bichon Frises are low-shedding (along the same lines as poodles) and often recommended for people with allergies.  They are about as close as you will get to a dog that doesn't shed.

  7. as every1 else has said, every dog sheds.

But Bichons shed hair abit like humans, very very little.

Bichons are good with people who have allergies, beucase they have hair NOT fur.

Which means bichions dont have that 'dog smell' either.

  8. A little--all dogs shed. (except maybe if they have no hair :P)

My family has a Bichon frise and she sheds a little--mostly when we brush her it just goes in the brush. Sometimes I find a little on my clothes if I'm wearing black pants or something, the white hair just shows up really well against the black, obviously.

However, they don't shed NEARLY as much as most other dogs. And if your family has allergies this may be a breed you want to check out. Two of my family members have allergies to most dogs but they're fine with the bichon.
