  1. Yes they do. Any type of exercise releases endorphins. endorphins are part of the pleasure sensors in the brain. It also gives you more energy as you do it more often. There is nothing better than taking a ride in a scenic route with no one around and going all out. It is a high like no other. Just you and the road. the more you ride the more endorphins your body released. It's like having s*x, sometimes better.

  2. Nothing lets you go all out for a longer time than riding a bike.  The bike holds you up while you work your legs.  It's possible to cycle through multiple highs over the course of a long ride.

  3. Sure, I guess that is why it is so addictive...

  4. also known, generically, as "second wind." most athletes experience it.

  5. Ride a bike, smoke a spliff, drink some water, get real high.

  6. When things go just right on a ride you can "zone out" and forget to pay enough attention to the world around you. You're tuned into your body, your bike, the rhythm, the sound, and the rush of the air. Paying attention to traffic and stuff in the road doesn't go away, but it becomes secondary. I hope others understand what I've been trying to express.

    HTH

  7. oh yeah.

  8. I must be doing something wrong!

A good hard ride leaves me fatigued and exhausted. . . .lol!

Nothing raises the adrenaline level higher than a fast downhill and spotting a sharp corner with gravel on the road! eeek brown pants!!

    .

  9. You bet !

  10. Honestly, the only time I've ever experienced the same type of Runner's High euphoria on the bike was during a long night ride late at night, and I'll attribute that to sleepiness (which was weird in the midst of exercise, but whatever).

That runner's high feeling is awesome, but I've never had it on the bike (either road or mountain).  Lots of adrenaline rushes, second winds, and good physical feelings, but never that same euphoria.

Interesting question. Makes me wonder if some of the ultra-marathon cyclists or 24-hr racers get the high.    :o)

  11. I do and for me it's all the more apparent because I'm a clinical depressive and I deliberately use cycling to level out my mood. Any vigorous exercise releases endorphins and they are the body's "feel good" hormones. If I do a 50 mile cycle I still feel the benefits two or three days later. If you do a long distance ride your body continues to pump out endorphins for up to an hour after you've stopped riding.

  12. YES! YES WE DO!  I AM BIKE-HIGH RIGHT NOW, WHICH EXPLAINS MY INCESSANT SHOUTING!

  13. Definitely. Conquering a climb, speeding down a descent, Finding the perfect gear and spinning in a trance like state, lol

  14. definatly!!!!

    and we love it!

thats why when we crash we usually get back on and keep going...well depending how badly we come off and whois injuered more...you or the bike
