DO I need a passport to pick someone up in Mexico?

My friends asked me to go to Tijuana and pass there daughter shes 16. I dont want to go if I need a passport because I dont have one.

  2. No you do NOT.

    You can drive and pick up the 16 year old and take her back.

    You will both need proof of who you are as the others have indicated.

  3. In order to drive across the border, you need your driver's license and evidence of US citizenship (i.e. birth certificate).

  4. You do not need a passport to travel to Mexico by Land..just a photo I.D. and birth certificate.  If the teenager is NOT a Mexican citizen, you wil need a letter signed by both parents and notorized, giving you permission to bring her across the border.  See site below and read section on Minors under "Entry Requirements.
