  1. yes they would need a visa but it would be really easy to get it because you are a briton. I dont think europe offers dual citizenship with the U.S

  2. Not really, they're probably British via descent. If you got your British status either by being born in the UK yourself or to British (at the time) parents or naturalization (if you received it via descent as in you were not born in the UK but got it via your parents you cannot pass it down to them unless the children were born in the UK).

    You can only register your children born outside the UK for one 1 year after their birth. Registration (in British terms for your case) means Birth Certificate. Apparently the Brits don't have Citizenship certificates if you're born in the UK or get it via descent (as you just ask your parents for their ID and get the passport via them to formalize it).

    You should be able to apply for the British passports for the children. It's a little expensive for 3 of them though. $160 US for one child, then $15 postage and handling so you're looking at $505 for the passports for 3 children (3nd link for the passport forms and notes on them).

    Click on all four links I provided should be able to help a bit. The first is to the general passport section at the UK embassy in the USA, the second is to tell you who is eligible for a British passport (yes I realise that's the UK embassy in Canada but it's easier for me to navigate ^_^ ), the third for the C2 forms for the passports and finally the fourth is the eligibility and notes to see what you need. The rest of the stuff is easier to find on the website.

    BTW It's 40 working days for a British passport (first time applicant, renewel is 20 working days). The only thing you can count on is the fact that at least you know they'll be on time (unlike the Americans who are supposed to have it done in 8 weeks but are pushing 12-14 weeks *coughs* ).

    Britian allows for Dual citizenship.

  3. why not get dual citizenship for your children first ?

    you are allowed to do so ; so therefore, contact your UK embassy in the US first, have yourself declared as a UK citizen living in the US, then; marriage if it applies ?

    then register your children with the UK embassy in the US , to get their citizenship of UK,

    and after all that is done and your children are citizen of UK ? no problem; you can all go back to UK legally :-)

    if you need help with this ? do come back , it will be my pleasure to find the embassy nearest you , and try to help you ;

    and yes , your children are allowed to have dual citizenship ;

    i will check back with you if you added more comments to your question, which you can do by going back to your question and editing it .with the little square and pencil on your question .

    it is late here in Europe, so, i will check back tomorow .

  4. I would ask to be sure but I really don't think so as you are a British citizen and you are claiming them.  Ask at your nearest embassy to find out for sure because their laws are changing as fast as ours.  Good luck.

  5. I don't think they need visa.  You can get a  British citizen  for your children . Contact British consulate  or go the UK embassy  here in US near to your address.

    Its easy for you to do it.
