  1. I haven't worn the new ACU as I retired in 93, but from what I've seen and heard it is a better uniform.

  2. They're awful. The velcro is over the top and non-tactical. The thigh pockets never stay closed. You cant sew anything on, which may sound great cuz its "cheaper" in someones mind...except the patches cost 3 times as much negating any sewing savings youd get. The colors dont blend to anything except maybe a couch. If the chose colors like the marines and had two sets rather than the universal scheme they chose, it would work. The colors are also too light and get dirty very quickly. The only thing it has going for it is it is more comfortable and has pockets in better positions. They need to do away with all the velcro except for on the zipper.

  3. BDU's were way better than ACU's... the change sucked. Of course, our BDU's were special made and had shoulder pockets and other stuff anyway unlike most other units. Only difference was all buttons and no velcro... velcro sucks.

  4. The new ones are alot better

  5. Well I retired before thy came out.. They look good I havebeen told they are comfortable... I also have been told they tear up pretty fast.

  6. i were both ACU's in army JROTC and BDU's in the us naval sea cadet corps. ACUs are more comfetable but BDU's actually blend in with stuff

  7. They are not called BDU, they are called ACU - Army Combat Uniforms.  And yes, I like them.

  8. The ACUs are more comfortable, more functional and are easier to care for.

BDUs were OK, but OK is not good.
