Included in our package is 1 glass of wine and 1 glass of champagne per person. We are not real big drinkers. But for our guests, do we need to add more liquor if this is a Morning Wedding?

  1. If it's a budget thing - then do what you feel you can manage - but if people want more have a "cash bar" available at the venue - but make sure you tell the guests so that they bring money.

If it's just because you don't drink - I'd put on at least a couple more glasses each...

  2. The people coming to the wedding and the reception are there to share the day with you and celebrate your new life together this is true, however i'm sure that not all of the things you registered for cost $3-$4. the alcohol is not the kind of thing you should be scrimping out on. if you want  party full of yawners while you do the chicken dance knock yourself out, but keep the drinks flowing or 2 hours into it the candid photos you told the expensive photographer to take   will look like a bunch of forced smiles.  and thats not the kind of wedding album you want to look at till death do you part. Good Luck!

  3. as long as there is a bar where people can buy more if they want to, this sounds ok

  4. Only if it's served with a lunch, and if it is, it's plenty.  The wine is for the meal and the champagne is for toasting.  I think it's fine just that way for a mid-day reception at noon.

  5. I think it sounds good. Just make sure theres water or punch also.

  6. this is wedding is for you hun. if they want more liquor  i would have them purchase it at the bar. I think one glass of wine and champagne is more than enough. make sure you state if you want more cocktails you must purchase it at their own expense....i have seen weddings where the bride and groom leaves tabs and gets stuck with the bill. This is your day not theirs...don't accomodate enjoy your long life together withyour new hubby to be congrats hun

  7. Yes, thats enough. I love wine but I would not have more than 1 glass of it during the day, on top of champagne no less. Thats plenty!

No need to have a cash bar as others have suggested. Just serve them these two drinks, its tons!

  8. we are doing a simliar time, and we are not providing any alchol, just sparkling juice for the toast with a cash bar....most people wont drink that early anyways..

  9. I have attended lots of weddings - and there have been 3-4 glasses of wine and 2-3 of champagne for each guest. If i attended your wedding, i would be shocked at how cheap you are!

  10. i would think you may need at least 2-3 glasses of wine per person

  11. if thats what your package allows yes but I hope you have a cash bar for guests  if they choose they need another drink..

  12. Depends on if you are having lunch. It would be better and peace of mind to have an extra 2 glasses of wine per person. It would be terrible if you ran out of wine. Check with the people doing the package if they can add extra wine if people require it. I think 1 glass champagne + 1 wine is a little under. People will like to have something to toast with too. I am assuming the champagne is on arrival and wine during lunch??? so you need more for the toasts.

  13. It really depends on what kind of drinkers your friends and family are.  I know for my wedding, I'd be budgeting for champagne plus 2.5 glasses of wine if it was in the morning.  However I also know how it is having a wedding and having to budget such a huge percentage to alcohol when I don't even drink that much myself !

If money is an issue, I would suggest one of two things.  One, a cash bar like other people have said or two, asking someone that you're close to like parents or a favourite uncle and would probably be giving you a big present to contribute towards the alcohol cost at the reception.

Also are you able to bring alcohol in ?  If you are, that could save a huge amount of money.  Also, you could buy it from a vendor that lets you return unused cases of wine if you don't end up drinking them.

    Good luck !

  14. That's fine. You just need the champagne for toasting and whilst eating that a few glasses of wine. That was how my cousins was. We got the champagne, then whilst we were eating, waiters came out and asked if we wanted white or red wine. Give people that choice. Just get a few bottles of wine that would be sufficient to at least two glasses per guest. Then, if people want more wine they can ask for some, as I think most people would be concentrated on having a good time and not on the amount of alcohol they are being served.

Make sure the place has a bar for people to get drinks from as a lot of men want beer.
