Are you talking about her big aria - Un Bel Di?  Well, she has found out that the American sailor who *married* her (he just wanted a local wife for s*x and housework!) has returned - after walking out on her - and not only does he have a REAL wife (American) - but he is taking their child.  She is suicidal - for real - and kills herself.

Not quite. In Un bel di, Butterfly is dreaming about the day Pinkerton will come back but he has not returned yet. This is after a rebuke of Suzuki for being a realist and pessimistic about Pinkerton's return.
