DO i Need a special board to go skurfing behind a boat, or can i use my surfboard?

I was wondering if i needed to buy a special board to go skurfing behind a boat.. i know what wakeboards are and all.. but i wanted to try out skurfing.. ive seen it done, but im not sure if people are using regular surfboards( like the one i use to surf in the ocean) or if they have special surfboards designed to skurf.. cuz it seems like you might need a place to strap your feet into like in wakeboarding.. so i was just wondering if anyone can answer that would be great..

  1. Sure you can use your surfboard. We do it all the time in the ocean in Florida. You'll have a blast!


  2. You need bindings to stay on it, besides it would be far to "slow" in reaction time. Stop trying to recreate some stupid, drunken stunt you saw on the net and just get a wakeboard.

  3. ive seen people on youtube skurf with a regular surf board right behind the boat i'm sure you'll be fine
