DO you think Pacman will be a better fighter at 135lbs?

I think he slowed a little bit and no longer agile when he fights. He peaked in the 3rd fight against Morales.

  1. No i dont think he will be better I think woody hit the nail on the nose in his answer. Manny pretty much peaked already in his carear its very unlikely hes going to get any better and the more he moves up in weight the better chances of him being completly outclassed/embarrassed and knocked out. If he fought any of the named guys around welter weight he wouldnt be able to hang at all. All those wars manny was in i think did take a lot out of him or take away from a longer carear hes still young but there is only so far he can go now. He should beat david diaz easy though at 135.

  2. 101%

    yess..!!!

coz he has a big heart...

    and god fearing...^_^

  3. He's really going to have to bulk up and work more on his agility at 135. I heard something about Pacman maybe going up to the Light Welterweight division to face Hatton...that suicide. At 135 it's going to be difficult for Pacquiao to adjust but I believe he has the mindset to do it.

  4. Everytime Pac moves up weight, you hear people say he won't be better. Time and time again he has proven his critics wrong. No evidence needed. He's already proven it with his gloves and not his mouth.

135lbs is already his body's ideal weight and his power and speed is already accustomed to that weight. He's already been fighting above this weight lately during fight night. He'll be as dominant in this weight category as he is at 130lbs. Moving up any higher than this though is another thing.

I will definitely doubt his capability at welterwight. But then again, he will just prove it with his gloves should this happen. He's a very disciplined and an animal when it comes to training.

Every year you hear naysayers say this stuff about Pac but year after year he proves his caliber in the ring. No one can argue that fact. He's got the fights and belts to prove it.

  5. As long as he eats the parger pellets, and gets the banana - Pac-Man always wins.

  6. Manny is/was simply a volume puncher with good stamina and good power and nice chin.

saturday night he was actually out boxed by an older guy. I think it made him look slow kind of. He does have nice power, but a move up (against a guy with skills) I can actually see him getting ko'd.

  7. considering that he started his career at 107, won his first would title at flyweight, and is now going after the lightweight title says that the man is a living, breathing walking, talking legend, and win or lose against david diaz in june, his place in the hall of fame is already in storage waiting for him.

  8. The Pacquiao that we've all seen thus far is as good as he's going to get. At this point in his career, I think it would be very difficult for Pacquiao to change the way he fights. His style is something that he has basically known for most of his career and it's only natural and fitting for him to stick to what he knows. So answering the question, I don't think Pacquiao will get better or worst at lightweight.

Now, will Pacquiao have as much success at lightweight, which is probably more of the answer you're looking for, I'd have to say no, unfortunately. Marquez in both fights with Pacquiao pretty much showed the blueprint for fighting Pacman effectively. At lightweight, their are several younger, naturally bigger and strong fighters who are capable of following Marquez's blueprint and probably do a better job at carrying it out.

Pacquiao's style is not taylor-made to consistantly move up in weight. If he continues to move up, someone will expose Pacquiao and do it in crushing fashion. Pacquiao afford to fight the way he do against bigger and stronger opponents. Marquez rocked Pacquiao a couple of times, so just imagine what naturally bigger guys are going to do.

  9. How much better could he get?  At 135 he should be great, That's pretty much his walk around weight and as he is aging it's a natural transition to Welterweight, he'll be a champ at this weight, no doubt.

  10. i heard that after Manny weighs 129 lbs in weigh-in, he added

18 more pounds in his fight between Juan Manuel Marquez, but he still knockdown Marquez in the canvass.. but Pacman's arms is slower compared to his last fight,

He's still good at 135 but i guess thats the limit weight for him..
