I was just wondering..

IS bottled water any better than the water that comes form the tap?

Do they actually "purify it"? Cause for all we know they could be filling it with tap water??? right??

  1. purified to the point so that it won't kill you. My husband read an article that says bottled water is mostly just tap water. And they can legally label the water spring water regardless if it really is spring water or not. kinda makes you leary of bottled water huh. Just fill a sports bottle with some tap water and make it super cold so you can't really taste the tap flavor.

  2. Most of the bottled water is not better than what is from the tap. Some of it is filtered but tht does not mean anything either. Filtering is the most basic process that only improves the taste and odor. Just like the Pur and Britta filters it simply is not enough. Some do actually purify their water though.

The best thing I can recommend is to see if the lable says purified on it or to check out the companies web site. The only two bottled waters I drink are Aquafina and Deer Park. Both of those companies have very good purification processes.

  3. In many cases they do process tap water to make purified water. There are various different processes for "purifying". To remove bacteria, they can gas it with ozone and then irradiate it with UV. To remove particulates and some suspended contaminants, they can filter it with activated charcoal. To remove minerals and salts, they can run it through a reverse osmosis filter, but it takes more time.

To remove many organic solvents, the only method is distillation. That said, many people would just prefer to drink straight scotch whiskey.

  4. idk maybe maybe not i think it is

  5. No one knows!

But I did hear something about Dasani using tap water to put in bottles a few years ago

Bottled water is nothing better than tap water, and it's not worth it!

Ever since it was introduced, it costs more than gasoline?

And you can get the same amount of water, filter it with those Brita filters and it'd cost less!

Just something to think about there. :D

  6. yes purifie the water.  i went to a water bottle tour and they answerd all questions and they make the water really safe to drink.
