  1. Only a rain jacket will keep you dry in a downpour.  With anything else, if the rain keeps coming you will get wet - eventually.  The question is how long will it hold up?  Burton bills this jacket as having "engineered goose down."  I'm not sure what that means... is it really goose down or is it man-made?  Either way, a down jacket will get heavy in the rain.  With a rating of 15,000 mm rain-proofing, this jacket should stay dry for a bit.  I wouldn't pick it for my warm-weather gear though - anything billed as "down filled" is going to be too warm and heavy.
