  1. Everyone is racist to some degree.

  2. it is so bad now just by saying you are proud of your country ~some one will call you racist.

  3. chinese people and thai look the same!!

    i get confused too!

and im sorry but if anybody thinks that thinking two types of people look the same is racist then they need to get a life

  4. Yes, everyone is racist to some degree. I agree with that. The only people who are not racist are those who have not had to spend large amounts of time with large groups of foreigners. Large groups always exhibit lowest-common-denominator emotionally warped beliefs, prejudices, and fears. To point this out is "racist" but no less true.

It seems to me that the only reason we don't call blacks ******* is that they are not our friends. We cannot be friends if one of us is re-ordering reality to fit a preconception (e.g. "us vs them"). This is the definition of 'neurosis' and neurotics don't have friends, they have collaborators.

"Human relationships can hardly be discussed in terms of more or less tolerable conditions, more or less admissible indignities. Qualification is irrelevant. Do insults like "wog" or "******" hurt more than a word of command? When he is summoned, told off, or ordered around by a policeman, a boss, an authority, who doesn't feel deep down, in moments of lucidity, that he is a darkie and a ****?"

Anti-racism today is more a fad than an ethical truth.

  5. No...she wasn't being racist....She only used a figure of speech...

Chinese, Thai, Japanese...They are all one people anyway.

  6. i'm not sure...

whats the difference between racist and ignorant? as that sounds more ignorant than actually racist

someone asked a question on here yesterday about mo eating boggeys and fasting i replied and got told i was bordering racism, i suppose reading back it could have been read as being racist but it was not meant in any way to be racist... polictally correct issues are awful at the moment, its the same arguement as is rex bullying rachel half the people say he is half say he isn't but what half are right???

  7. Oh here we go AGAIN with yet another drama over something that has been said in jest being taken out of context!  You can no longer open your mouth in the UK for fear of upsetting some minority its a joke!!!!

  8. Lol, I thought it was very true what she said

  9. She was racist, but you know what old people are like ........ the matter will soon be forgotten.

  10. Nothing racist about it - it was the truth as she saw it

  11. That doesn't sound racist to me, but I don't watch BBLB as I can't stand the presenters.

  12. well the fact that she was calling her chinese when there has been so much publicity around her being thai i think her comment wasnt just a mistake, it was deliberate and intended to belittle...not that i like kat - she totally IS fake!

  13. She wasn't. If you say I don't like you because you are black, white, chinese etc... that would be racist because you are saying you don't like them becasuse of the ethnic background or colour.

Everyone says things like americans are cheesy, the british have a warped sense of humour etc... is that  racist?

  14. It is such a pity that people are not allowed to speak anymore without someone banging on the racism drums.

  15. Must admit, I can't bear to watch BBLB this year with the presenters. Did see the clip of Wendy on the show yesterday and it did shock me a little, but I didn't expect a big deal to come of it. I think it was a little insensitive to class all Asians as the same and basically say "Well they're all the same to me" and something about facial expressions, but I think in fairness a lot of us are probably used to hearing similar things thrown around from our Grandparents or something with traditional views and are quite old fashioned.

Of course I hate racism, but I'm just not quite sure that's what Wendy was doing. To me she just made herself look a bit silly by getting Chinese and Thai people mixed up but her spokesperson has since said she really didn't mean to cause offence and the whole incident has been blown out of proportion. I just think particularly with a show like Big Brother, they have to be extra careful really.
