  1. If you had unprotected s*x 3 months ago and got tested 3 weeks later  and it came out negative then that is your answer, and if you got paranoid and decided to want to get tested again an it came out negative then you dont have that type of virus. If you are really concern about it I would get tested again in 3 to 6 months and see what the answer is after that. But I do think your a lil to worried and stressing over nothing after the 3 months explosure has already been taken. Relax and calm down !Good luck on finding out the real answer to your situation! An next time! Dont have unprotected s*x with someone you dont know that well and that is std and hiv free.

  2. HIV test after 3 months is conclusive. Your negative test at 2 months is very reassuring as almost all people who are infected will test positive by this time. But you have to confirm it with a 3 months conclusive test.

In very rare cases, when the person is on drug for cancer treatment or using anti-rejection drugs for organ transplant or is a heavy drug user, antibodies detected later than 3 months.

Doctors are usually being conservative about this. Your test at 2 months is a very good indicator that you are not infected. It is very unlikely that it turns positive after a negative test at 2 months. But the guideline says 3 months is conclusive.

Test at 3 months and put this incident behind you. Expect a negative result.

  3. Antibodies to HIV usually show up on tests within 3 months of infection.  However, in extremely rare cases, it can take up to 6 months for the antibodies to show up on tests.

I do HIV education and testing.  I would suggest that you get tested 3 months after your last possible exposure, then retest 3 months after that.

  4. okay

    well first off,

try talking to the girl you had s*x with.

[that is if you can contact her]

    just relax

    take the test again

    but months MONTHS later

    just to be sure

    but until then

    you should be fine

just be sure to ALWAYS ALWAYS wear a condom when having s*x

it's better for YOU and for HER

  5. I work in a STD Clinic. We tell everyone the window period is 3 months. Usually HIV shows up 90% after the fist month and 99.6% after the 90 days. So if you were negative at the 2 month time you should be fine. For your peace of mind you might want to retest at the 4 month mark, but that's it, unless you have had unprotected s*x since the last time.

  6. The window is 3-6 months. Technically speaking about 98% of people that are being tested would have an accurate result by 3 months. The reason why they make you wait till 6 months is because of the 2%. Even though it's really rare to go positive after 3 months, people can still test positive at 6 months (these people are basically cancer patients that are taking medicine that keeps the antibodies from showing).

Just take a rapid test at 6 months and then you're done.
