DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY RETOUCH PHOTOS ON GIMP? PLEASE HELP?

Lol, ok. Well, I just downloaded GIMP so I could edit some photos.

I know the basics, but how can you really retouch the photos and make them professional looking?

Also, how can you put together a couple of pictures into one picure?

    Although about adding borders this article deals with combining two iamges using layers, on the, main image and one the containing the border.  This should give some help about combining images.

  2. in gimp open all images, then create new blank canvas the width of three images for example 2x2" would be new 6x2", then select all of each image and paste into new layer on selected canvas, move each into place bside one another, and save as xcf, then save copy as jpg, check that resolution of images are the same , 72 / 96 is standard, for printing keep higher at 144/300,
