DOG UNABLE tO LEAVE AIRPORT BECAUSE OF AIRLINES ERROR?

She was shipped alone in cargo on Delta airlines from STL Missouri to Seoul South Korea on Sunday and arrived there 18 hours later. My parents are to pick her up from the airport in Seoul but the airlines wont let them take her home because Delta International (the airline service) 'lost' all of the dog's paper work (health certificates, rabies, etc...) So she has total been in her 27''/20''/19'' kennel for over 50 hours. And the airport wont allow her to be taken home without the paper work. I have been calling Delta and have been on hold for 30 minutes at a time without anyway of getting help or service from anyone in help of figuring out where the h**l all of the dog's papers are. They were supposed to be shipped with the dog tapped securely on the kennel by an attendant. Obviously the airline co. messed up somewhere. Now my dog is stuck in the cargo area of an airport w/o food or water and in her own f***s for who knows how long plus she's 5 weeks pregnant! What can I do?!!

  1. thats hella sad

  2. Contact the US State Department.  They can probably work something out for the dog's care.

Make arrangements to have the dog shipped back to you right away.  It is almost impossible to get a dog shipped across an international boundary, especially into a part of the world where dogs are bred for food.  They just simply don't understand how we feel about our pets.

I am sorry nobody warned you about this in advance.  Don't try to ship a dog overseas--ever.  The State Dept should be able to put you in touch with a lawyer in Seoul that can make them keep your dog alive.

EDIT:  The suggestion below about the SPCA is a good one.  Try that, too.

I hope your dog survives and you can get her home.  Then if you are also going to Korea, find a good home for your dog back in the states.

    Good luck.

  3. I believe your best bet is to contact the SPCA and find their contact for South Korea.  Hopefully they can initiate some temporary care for your dog.  Hurry!!!

  4. iu dont think there is much u can do

is there anyway u can get a vet to come with u and do some quick tests on the dog to see if its healthy enough to come in until u get paper work

or try to contact the people u got the dog from to confirm ( by sending paper work via email or something)

other than that i dont think tehre is much u can do.
