no matter who wins the election, the president really doesn't have as much power as people think? He/she can't just simply change a law or bill...it has to pass through congress first and get majority vote ! And by the way the president is really comprised of a group of people that work beneath him/her. They are the ones who do most of the work. So whomever is president really should pick a strong team.

  1. he can sign a executive order saying that if he doesn't agree with the law he isn't going to follow it

and that is a power that needs to be reviewed and so should every law that was signed with that as a attachment

because if the next president doesn't call for a review of that power , it will be a newly created power that will never go away

    unconstitutional, and with no review

    with no checks or balances

  2. I agree that the president, he or she, is just a figure head. But, he and she have to have strong convictions to make decisions on a minutes notice on some things that aren't required to be okay-ed by congress. GO JOHN & SARAH

  3. Yea the president doesn't have to much power. but if he makes good decisions all of the people beneath him will agree with his ideas. But your right, he needs a strong team to pass the laws and stuff.

  4. Excellent....it is one thing for a president to send down a "request" to Congress...it is another thing getting it through the lobby system

  5. Yes, also aren't there other influences.  Like lobbyists and big companies that like to fund projects as well as others...That dictate what will happen because they have a set way of doing things.
