DORIAN GRAY! help with a project PLEASE! ?

okay for my ap english project i have to write a written journal on the picture of dorian gray. now i dont really need help with the actual journal entries i just need help with the dates...? what era did this take place? does anyone have a site saying like the approximate dates of when things in the book happened? because i did this for pride and prejudice too and i found a site like that. so help anyone please?

heres a list of the events in the journal entries if it helps.

1 meets henry/ portrait painted

2 meet sibyl/engaged

3break it off with sibyl

4 portrait starts to change/ sibyl dead

5 bring picture to attic

7 confrontation with james vane

the book was written in the late 1800's around 1880's or 90's l believe that is the same ara the story takes place.

Google Dorian Gray and look in Wikipedia.  I think everything you'll need is there.  Of course, there will be many other sources you can double check that will be listed.  All I know is that Wilde published the book in 1890 and it was called "The Picture of Dorian Gray."  Or go to the library and check out the book.
