  1. You do not want to mix them. Like the man said if fluid is to much then sell the bike and walk.

  2. You can use a higher number in brake system than called for but not a lower number.(DOES NOT APPLY TO SILICON BASE FLUIDS-DOT 5 and above) IE in a DOT 1 or DOT 2 (both obsolete) you can use DOT 3 or DOT 4, in a DOT 3 system you can use DOT 4 but you cannot use DOT 5 in a DOT 1,2,3,or 4 also DOT 5 and DOT 5.1 should not be mixed.

You can use Dot 4 in a Dot 3 system but not Dot 3 in a Dot 4 system!

  3. go by what the cap calls for. if it calls for dot 3 use that if it calls for dot 4 use dot 4, if it calls for goat blood, then you need to find a sacrificial goat and scavenge a little.

  4. Yes you can mix DOT 3 & 4 together.

The numbers relate to the boiling point of the brake fluid.

    You'll end up with DOT 3 1/2

DOT 5 is silicon based and will not mix with the lower grades.
