Question:

DOT compliance help! Do I have to submit records requests to states the employee did not have a CDL in?

Under regulations, you must request your CDL drivers records for the previous three years from each state they were licensed in. I have a new driver that had a license in three different states but did not utilize the CDL. Do I still have to ask those states for a history?

What about those employers? He wasn't subject to DOT regulations on those jobs but they are still within the 3 year period.

Does anyone have any good sites to get this type of information answered? I'm not having luck.

    Should answer everything.

It reads that an applicant needs to furnish ALL violations, accidents, etc. for the prior 3 years.  So therefore you will need to get all states which the applicant had a (non-CDL)license.
