DOes anyone live in Port Charlotte, FL?

Question

I am considering relocating to Port Charlotte from NJ w/ my husband and 12yo (another one on the way). I have done lots of research and like what I am reading thus far...However I wanted to hear from actual residents and pick their brains a bit.

i live in Jacksonville Florida..

not sure if thats close to Port Charlotte.

there isn't much to do for teens if you're not into the drug and party scene though.. which sucks for me.. but for your 12yrold we do have a water park which is pretty fun.. theres a little arcade thing in there and a batting cage. um.. theres plenty of good restaurants here..

the only crappy thing about this place is that there is soooo much construction going on, people don't know how to act and sometimes tend to drive all crazy..

i know this doesn't really help you since you're looking for info on a completely different place.. but good luck? :]
