DOes the dmv keep your picture on file?

i lost my permit and ia have a drivers ed test and i m screwed without it cus the two weeks i spent there will be a waste

does anyone know if the dmv keeps your picture on file do i have to go in and do it or can my mom just pick it up?

  1. They do keep it on file- if you dont take a new picture or renew it online then they will automatically use your most recent picture.  If you are just needing another copy they will have to mail it to you or your mom can take some kind of identification from you along with her DL and they will give her a copy!!


  2. In WV. If you lose your ID, you have to go to the DMV and have your pic retaken. You get your new card right there. The picture is still on file, but they can't just mail you one or have someone pic it up for you. There's papers you need to sign. The picture only stays on file so they can compare it, and make sure that's it's YOU that is getting it remade. That's in WV, as for your state, I'm guessing it's the same, but you may want to call first and see what paperwork you need to take. Usually a birth certificate and proof of residency (utility bill)
