DRESDNER SC extends the contract of head coach Alexander Waibl – Volleyball news
The Board of German women’s volleyball club, DRESDNER SC has extended the contract of team coach Alexander Waibl for two more years.
Waibl, who joined the German squad in 2009, will now be attached with the team up to 2015. He is turning 44 this year and he has received this special birthday present from the team management.
The head coach Waibl said, “I feel very well here in Dresden and while we continue to integrate young players, it is good to keep also some veterans in our group.”
DSC girls are currently preparing the first match of the Playoffs of Bundesliga, which is coming on this Saturday. The team will clash the archrivals Smart Allianz STUTTGART.
According to the Board of Dresdner SC, Alexander Waibl has the talent and experience to lead the team to success in the upcoming tough challenges. The club President Jörg Dittrich admitted that Waible has always devoted his maximum effort to achieve the
team goals and that’s why they have decided to extend his contract.
Besides the head coach, the Board also approved the extension in the contract of two senior players; Stefanie Karg and Anne Matthes. The 26-year-old middle-blocker Stefanie has the influential role of captain in the team. She has been with DSC since 2003
and is considered the most effective middle blocker of the Bundesliga. The club has extended her contract for one more year.
Likewise, the contract of Anne Matthes has been extended by the team management. Anne also plays for the national team of Germany and has very good reputation in the team. She plays at wing-spiker’s position in Dresdner SC.
The head coach Waibl shared his opinion about Anne in the following manner. “She is a real leader out there on the court. She brings a lot of experience and I know that she still has much potential to improve even more,” she said.
Moreover, the President of Dresdner SC Jorg Dittririch further added that most of the fans come to the match because of Stefanie and Anne.
German squad has great many plans for the upcoming matches, while head coach Waible, Stefanie and Anne are determined to give their best to the team.
