DSL / Phone line trouble?

I just got my DSL and phone line transferred to a new residence. My internet does not work at all, and I can make phone calls, but not receive them. When you call the phone, it rings once, then produces a shrill beeping sound...Has anyone ever had this trouble, or may know what is causing it?

  1. Make sure your DSL line from a phone jack plugs in direct. (No filter.) Make sure ALL other phones in your home have the proper FILTER installed!! Without filters, no dice..

  2. If receiving a beeping sound its from the cable card from the the phone company or your filters arnt on your phones. If you haven't been in your new house for a week then your dsl is not working they field test your phone line before they turn it on.Dsl uses a digital card in your phone line that might also be the problem it ring trips and once your phone rings it goes into a busy signal.that's what it sounds like to me. call your phone company repair line and tell them what your experiencing and they should know what the problem is.good luck on the repair line.have fun
