which is the best dslr camera for astrophotography? please dont say the canon 20Da becuz i cant find it anywhere due to it being discontinued. im looking for a camera in the $600 or less price range.

  1. Really any entry level camera in today's list of DSLR cameras can be used .... they will have to have their "hot mirror filter" removed so IR light can strike the sensor.

    Then you can buy a camera that can use a T-mount camera adapter and suitable t-mount to telescope adapter ... mine is a 25mm and I use a Nikon D300 ($1,700) because it has "live view" which works well on both telescopes and microscopes when using the AC adapter so the camera can be left on for hours at a time with no fear of the batteries failing.

    Nikon D40 is under $500 with a Nikon AF-S 18-55 mm ED lens
