Well this weekend everyone from NTC was finally back, and despite everyone giving Rear Det. warnings about not drinking this weekend or at least not doing anything stupid, a e-5 in my company got caught on post drinking and driving. Granted while I'm not suprised at this person doing it, I was just wondering what normally happens to DUIs people, its normally stricter on post right? Reason I ask is because our 1st sgt is treating the entire rear d people like c**p now because of 1 individual (I was only rear d because I came to the unit after they left)

Are they going to be more lenient on him since we deploy in about a month and I believe hes going (he technically doesn't have to go til december, but theres nothing else to do around here)

Personally I would hate if they are lenient on him because he will probably do it again in a heart beat (he seriously could have called like 20 people to come pick his drunk behind up but chose not to) I'm seriously not looking forward to going to iraq with this person.

I tried googling army dui proceedure but didn't come up with much, seems to differ place so I figure I would ask.

  1. i was at ntc several years and dui was a huge nogo, you know by all the white crosses, and your right there is no proper procedure ive seen a e5 get thrown out for it and an e5 get article 15 its up to the chain of command.

  2. You are learning military about discipline very well. One person screws up, everybody pays.

Lenient? I don't think so., Probably one  stiff Article 15.

  3. if anything they may be harder on him..like confining him to barracks until you take off.  he will get that AR 15 and he can expect loss of pay and possibly a stripe as well.
