Does anyone know if alcohol related traffic accidents are decreasing or increasing? And, are the states (any state) revenues from dui arrests decreasing or increasing?

  1. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported an estimated 17,419 people died in the year 2002 in alcohol-related traffic crashes, an average of one every 30 minutes.

MADD reports in 2006, an estimated 15,827 people died in alcohol-related traffic crashes—an average of one every 33 minutes.

I can't find anything more current than 2006, but there seems to be a decline over that four year period.
