HI there I am a 16 year old male 5,10 137 pounds and I was wondering...

When I dunk Should my right foot or my left foot be behind? Because I am right handed and I am stronger 1 leg off my right foot, but everyone thats right handed seems to use their right leg as their behind foot while I use it as my forward foot.

Also, Running I can grab about 9,4 but standing I can grab about 9,6! So HELP ME what should I do to increase my vertical running? Will I gain several inches Since ide be fixing my technique and running is sopposed to be more than dunking?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

  1. If you are dunking with your right hand you should jump off your left leg, If you dunk with the left hand you should jump off your right leg. If you can touch 9'6 standing but 9'4 running either you are a "jumper" not a "leaper" meaning you probably lack reactive power or you are using sub optimal biomechanics. You need to take a full vertical jump and baseline fitness test to be sure.
