DVD DRIVE FAILING TO INITIALIZE

Question

Hi, the DVD drive in my Evesham laptop doesn't appear in the "My Computer" folder. Device Manager tells me that the driver could not be initialized and to use the troubleshooting button, which tells you to uninstall and then install the DVD drive, to no avail - HELP!! for info. the drive is a Sony DVD RW DW-Q58A.
