DVD Layer change...anyone else have this happen to them?

I was watching an old musical on DVD this weekend ("Bloodhounds of Broadway"). When it reached the layer change (between chapters 20 and 21), it paused for an inordinate amount of time, then skipped forward to chapter 22. As I immediately noticed it, I went back to chapter 20, and replayed it...several times. It correctly went straight to the next chapter. What would have caused this one time error? The player? The disc? Dust?

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Could be dust on the disk or laser. I would think a scratch would have made it happen more than the one time.

no, but i have had the layer transition hang on me for a few seconds on a couple of dvds. cant recall now but it did happen.

dont know the cause, but you know electronics.. they could be buggy for no apparent reason at all.
