DVD/MiniDV Sony Camcorder's "nag screen"?

Question

I heard that when u buy any Sony Handycam Camcorder that uses some type of disc, and u use a disc that isnt Sony brand, it shows a reminder of that every time u open the screen. so, i hav 2 questions...

1. does it still allow u 2 record video/pix onto a non-Sony disc?

2. when the "nag screen" comes up, does it stop u, 4 even a split second, from performing operations on the camcorder?

DO NOT BUY A DVD based camcorder. The video quality is terrible - especially for editing or uploading to your computer to do ANYTHING with them.

This "nag screen" has NOTHING to do with miniDV tapes. ONLY cheap miniDVDs and many times, non-Sony batteries.
