I’m planning to buy a portable Sony DVD player from Canada and I was going to visit Greece what do I have to in order to make my portable DVD player work in Greece?

  1. Get a voltage converter for your travels.  It will convert the foreign 220 volts to 110 volts for your Canadian devices.  They can be purchased at many stores.  Travel stores, Radio Shack, almost any store with a luggage section.  

    A bigger problem might be that Greece uses a SECAM television standard rather than NTSC like Canada or the US uses.  A TV in Greece might not work with your DVD player.  If the DVD player has it's own screen, you're OK for Canadian DVD's.  But it might not play the SECAM DVD's if you buy any in Greece.
