DVD Player does not turn on

Question

I bought a JVC DVD Player with surround sound combo a few years ago, and been using it trouble free since. On my return from a weekend away I found it completely dead. Cannot switch on. I first thought it must just be power, so I disconnected and reconnected the mains to the unit but nothing. One strange thing that I noticed is that when I connect the mains the normal green power LED at the fron of the unit glashes RED twice. Is this some sort of error indication?Model of unit = XV-THS7Any help appreciated.
