I have a normal DVD player thats plugs into the TV but I have just bought a new TV and have no room for the DVD player. The only way I can use it is if I turn it on its side and put it down the side of the TV. Will it be ok like this?

  1. Check the DVD tray. If it can be used on it's side, it will have about 4 little pieces of rectangular plastic that slightly overlap where you'd put the DVD in. This stops the DVD from falling out when the unit is placed vertically. Sometimes they're hinged so you can fold or slide them out.

If you're in any doubt at all though, check your manual - i'd be surprised if it didn't say in there. Failing that, send an e-mail off to the manufacturer. Better than risking ruining a DVD - or worse, the player.

  2. no most dvd player are not ment to be played on its side disc will fall out of the tray

  3. it should be fine, dvd players dont have to be in any perticular orientation to work, they just have to be kept stable for the laser to read the disc and not to cause the disc to hit the surroundings.
