I have a Samsung dvd recorder and i'm trying to copy movies but having problems purchasing discs. Wondering why the +R discs are so much cheaper than -R and if it's worthwhile copying films? If anyone could give me any advice I would be very grateful

  1. -R was the original  recording format then a competing format +R was introduced and with it was designed the ability for Dual Layer DL disks which hold TWICE as much bit cost 10 times more.

DVD-R DL have been recently introduced and as a NEW product are more expensive than the older +R DL disks but the same price as when the +R DL disks were introduced.

they should come down with time . but remember some players can only write/read +R discs and some only the -R disks but many can do BOTH!

if your recorder can use DVD+R DL use them as they are cheaper and easier to find than DVD-R DL. if not wait for the -R DL disks to become more popular and available!
