What is the difference between the two DVDs. What would be the reason to pick one over the other?

  1. Theres no difference between DVD-RW and DVD RW. One just has a hyphen. Maybe you meant to ask the difference between DVDRW and DVDR?   DVD-RW are discs that can be written on multiple times, ie. the information can be edited. DVD-R, however, is a one time recording thing. You put the stuff on there and eject the disc, you can never use it again for writing things. If your making DVDs the DVD-R is a better choice, but if your using the discs for storage then go DVD-RW.

    Hope this helped :)      JMR
