A lot of CD burners on Computers are also DVD burners. You just have to have the correct software to burn DVDs make sure you don't already have one and if you don't got to a place like staples or office max and ask someone who really knows what they are doing to give you better advice.

A DVD burner can be confusing...

If your looking for adding one to your computer, its really easy to get an external one, and it would come with software to use it.  They are priced around $100 - $200.  This would just plug into your computer via USB or FireWire.

If your looking to get a DVD recorder (set top box), it is a bit more complex.  They can run a lot of money and they don't all use high resolution inputs.  If you want to save TV, or record TV stick with TiVo or a DVR.  TiVo Rocks!  I have three and love them all...
