Okay does anybody have a HITACHI DVDCAM Multi Format DVD-RAM.-R.-RW?

I am having trouble trying to edit my dvd's. I have formated the mini dvd's and they work in the computer and play in a DVD player and everything. I just don't know how to edit and arrange scenes on the computer? I have tried inserting the DVD in the cd-rom tray and it just plays the movie and I have also tried the USB cable connection. Can somebody just tell me what to do. I am at my wits end.....really. Thank You!

  1. If you have a mini dvd camcorder….

You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer 's DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (i downloaded handbrake file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away.

  2. Hopefully your computer has a drawer loading DVD drive. Take the disc out of the camcorder and put it in your computer's drawer loading DVD. NEVER put a miniDVD in a slot loading optical drive. When the DVD starts auto-play, hit escape and wuit out of the DVD player. You will need to rip the DVD using something like HandBrake:

If your computer's optical drive is a slot loader OR is CD only (does not read DVDs) or if it is some other media storage (VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, etc...), you need to tell us more information... or you can get an analog/digital converter:

If your computer has only USB:

    If your computer has firewire:

Using the AV cable that came with your camcorder, connect one end to the camcorder AV port and the other end to the A/D Bridge. The A/D bridge connects with USB or Firewire as appropriate.

  3. well you cant format a movie thats on a disc. you have to take the video off the disc onto the hard drive and edit the video with video editing software. first off if your in the market for a new computer get a mac. it has imovie which is video editing software. very simple to use, and you can do some pretty cool stuff. it also comes with idvd. where you arange a dvd with menus and everything to put your movies and slideshows on to make it really cool.

now if you have a pc i reccomend downloading or buying Adobe Premiere. its also video editing software. take some tutorials on how to use the program. then you can make the video and then burn it onto a new dvd.
