DVD video camera. Which one to get?

I would like to buy a DVD video camera, but have no idea what to look out for. I don't want to spend too much. Any tips?

  2. I would stay away from anything that records directly onto DVD. You will find yourself frustrated with having to change the disk every 28 minutes and also the picture quality is lacking. There is no way to record over footage that has been finalized and unfinalized disks can not play on most DVD players.

    You are much better purchasing a MiniDV camera and a DVD recorder that will hook up to your TV. By doing this, you will always have your tapes as back-up.

    I would say to go with a Sony Handycam and a Samsung DVD recorder.

  3. I got the Sony Handycam...Very easy to use, great features.  Not cheap though.

  4. don't buy a dvd based video camera. they have a very poor picture quality compared to mini dv and the discs are more expensive.

    do you have a computer? you can use practically any camera to work with your mac or pc.
