DVD won't work with DVR!?

My family just got a brand new moxi DVR and now we are trying to watch a DVD on our DVD/VCR player but it doesn't work and we don't know what to do please be nice and help!

The DVD player should have nothing to do with the DVR.

I assume each one is connected to a separate input port on your TV. Using the remote, select the appropriate input and it should work.

Simple test, connect the DVD where the Moxi is connected now. Does it work?

You need to hook the DVD to the TV not to the DVR. The DVD players are made to either not work or not work properly when they are hooked up to the cable box or DVR. They don't want you attempting to record anything. One of my sony DVD player would make the piture get lighter and darker if you added a VCR so that you wouldn't record.
