Ebay seller stated dvd will play on any English dvd player, so I made bid. Asked after bid what zone? Told zone 1. Europe is zone 2. tried to cancel bid, but too late. Seller said that on new generation dvd plays that the zone no longer makes a difference and both can be read. My player is totally new, nothing stated about zone 1 or 2 in the user manuel. it looks like I'm going to win the bid, want to know if it's true that zone 1 and zone 2 no longer matter, that both are automatically read, unlike in the past. Thanks for all your comments.

  1. Zone 1 is the USA format. Zone 0 and zone 2 would work on a UK region dvd player.Go to www.dvdreviewer.co.uk to unlock your player.

  2. I hadn't heard that, though most DVD players can now be made region free in a few seconds.  If you google for your DVD player and "region free" you'll probably find out how to do it.  If it's a Region 1 DVD it's probably NTSC - can your TV handle that?  Most modern sets can, but you may need to go into your setup options.
