  1. Hi Chan,

A DVD+R DL is a double layer disk BUT it isn't two sided. A DVD-R DL holds 8.5Gb of data and a single layer DVD holds 4.7Gb.

Both layers are recorded from the same side. The disk is made like a sandwich and the recordable layers are at two levels. The laser focuses shallower or deeper onto the proper level as it records or plays.

If you had a two sided disk you wouldn't be able to put a label on it or you would cover up side of data with the label and you would also have to turn the disk over halfway through a movie.

  2. Yes you can.

And also there are 9GB DVD's so you don't need to change the sides and you can burn all of your info in just one side!
