DVD+R not playing in DVD player?

I burned some vacation videos on a DVD+R for my Dad but it won't play on his DVD player. What happened? It plays on Windows Media player but not on a regular DVD player.

It must be a very old DVD player (perhaps Panasonic?).

Some old models may not recognize other media except DVD-Video.

In addition, most players can't really play windows-media files. Make sure you record in a DVD-video format.
