I have downloaded films from TPB & Mininova & then Burnt them to DVD useing RecordNow! on my Laptop.

They play fine on my laptop but will not play on my home dvd player.

Is it a problem with my dvd player or the blank DVDs that I am useing?

Many thanx in advance.

  1. My friend, that is one of the problems that I experience all the time.  There are many problems that it could be:

    1.  You burned the DVD at a speed that your DVD player cannot read.

    2. You burned the DVD  in a different region format then where you live.

    3. You burned the DVD in a different format( NTSC Or Pal- TV)

Once you determine which one it is, you are good to go!

  2. This is one thing you need to look at...

Not all DVD players will play the DVD-R's.  Mine doesn't and it is not how you record them, it is just a compatibility issue.  Philips is the maker of my DVD player and DVD+R's run perfect on it.  If you put a DVD-R in it, nothing happens.  It just spins and the DVD will not play.   If you can, get out your user manual for your DVD player and see if it will run both DVD+/-R Disc.

Also, send their tech support an e-mail and make sure of what the manual says if you can.
