will Dvds bought in the USA or online from the USA work with English dvd players ?

  1. it depends if the formats of disc is ntsc or pal

    usually usa dvd's are ntsc format

    dvd player must match with the format and the tv should me matched too other wise the screen wont stop it will go up and down


  2. Yes you can buy multi region players. They are no problem to get in England. Philips DVP3120 multi region £30 the Alba model is cheaper. From Amazon.co.uk. or you could check your high street stores. Yes the DVD,s will work once you have a new player. Plus you will like the added features on USA DVD's.

  3. No, unfortunately they won't.  The data is encoded in two different ways. (NTSC in the USA but PAL in the UK)....  You MAY be able to configure a PC in the UK to play US DVDs, but after a couple of plays, the PC will "lock" modes, and thereafter you will ONLY be able to play US DVDs.

  4. No. You need to get a player that is region-free in order to watch DVDs outside of the region of the world you live in. I believe England is Region 2, but I know for certain that it is a different region from the USA for certain, which is Region 1.
