DVI TO HDMI (Will I get sound?)?

I have a ATI Radeon 3650HD 1GB Video Card and it has 2 DVI ports and an S-Video port on the back of it.

I have a Logitech G51 Stereo System for my computer.

** I Want to buy a 30-40inch HDTV 1080p and be able to get sound out from the TV to my stereo system.**

(in other words I want to be able to be watching TV and get sound from my PC stereo, and when I watch a BlueRay movie from my computer and still get sound from my stereo)

Can it be done, and by what means?

  1. Just connect the TV to the PC via DVI to HDMI.

Connect the audio out from your PC to the Stereo system.

  2. DVI is Digital Video Interface

HDMI is Hi Definition Multimedia Interface

The video format in DVI is Identical to the video format in HDMI (digital)

The only difference between DVI and HDMI (other than the shape of the connector) is that HDMI includes 5.1 audio. DVI has no audio.
