What is better to get in a video card for games? I want to put this on a wicked big screen LCD and play mostly first person shooters.

  1. I'd go for HDMI

  2. Well, DVI doesn't have DRM, so it is less likely to have dropouts, but if you want to output to a big-screen TV, you'll probably have to go HDMI.

There really is no good choice. DVI is being phased out and HDMI sucks.

  3. HDMI is the new standard, so I would go for that one.  Whichever you choose, they are both compatible with each other using a DVI-HDMI adapter.

Most monitors are DVI and most LCD tv's are HDMI, however HDMI monitors are going to be the new standard within a year or so.

Right now I have a DVI video card hooked up to a HDMI monitor and a HDMI TV.  Like I said, they are both perfectly compatible with each other.
