DVR-540H-S is only playing in black and white?

Question

DVR-540H-S is recently playing and recording only in black and white.

The recordings that were recorded in the past as colour are now black and white.

The disc Navigator comes up in black and white.

When we play the TV through the DVR its black and white.

Our TV settings are as normal. (colour)

so we have to switch off our DVR to watch TV in colour.

We have checked all cords.

anything is better than nothing so please help!
