DVR/TIVO questions?

Question

1) do you have to be on the same channel as what's recording while it is recording?

2) does the TV have to be on while you are recording?

I have dvr you can watch other programs if you are taping one thing if you are taping 2 then you can not watch anything else

with DVR you can watch anything you want while its recording and you can even turn the tv off. Something thats cool about DVR is that you can record two things at once... the not so cool thing is that if you do record two things at once then you cannot watch TV while its recording.

now, about TIVO... I'm not really sure, Ibecause I dont use TIVO. sorry : /

In almost all cases, the answer to both questions is no. My dvr can record two shows at the same time. If only one show is recording, i can watch any other channel, but if two shows are recording, i can only watch those or something that was previously recorded. Your DVR will record shows automatically, even if the tv (or even the cable) are turned off.
