DVR - iTunes????????

is there a DVR that will let you record something and move it onto my computer... then to my itunes... convert to mp4.... then onto my ipod.... then onto any tv I want via component cables.... can I do that is it legal if so then why does it cost so much to buy tv shows on itunes....

  1. There's no DVR capable of doing that.

    You could try hooking your DVR up to a DVD burner and then you'd have whatever it is on DVD.  You could also load it onto your computer to put in iTunes or on your iPod or whatnot.

    No, it's not legal.

    It costs the same to buy movies and shows on iTunes as it does to buy the DVD new.


  2. Abosolutely! I have a Philips 375 hard drive and DVD recorder.  I bought it at Walmarts for a 300 bucks.  Record your favorite TV shows to the hard drive, just like using a vcr and save any of the ones you want to DVD to free up more hard drive space.  This thing is as good as Tivo without the subscription fee.  You''l have to figure out when your shows are on, but that's not very hard.  It has the ability to pause live TV or watch shows already in progess from the beginning.  You can even watch a DVD while recording a TV show.

      Once you have your shows dumped onto DVD, you can insert that into your pc and do whatever you'd like ...providing you have the necessary software.
